Supervisor
Dr. Michelle Klautau
Associate Professor at UFRJ and is accredited in the postgraduate program in Biodiversity and Evolutionary Biology at the Institute of Biology at UFRJ. Currently, she is editor of Calcarea at the World Porifera Database ( WPD - WoRMS ), editor of Porifera at the scientific journal Zootaxa, Scientist of Our State (FAPERJ) and Research Productivity Fellow at CNPq (Level 1D).
Since 1986, she has been carrying out research with marine sponges (phylum Porifera), focusing mainly on the Calcarea class. She works mainly on the following topics: Taxonomy, Phylogeny, Molecular Systematics, Ecology and Cellular Biology of Porifera.

Develops research with marine sponges (phylum Porifera), especially from the Calcarea class. He works mainly on the following topics: Taxonomy, Molecular Systematics, Population Genetics and Evolution of Porifera.
